Power Seat Recliner?

95 PAU...I'm assuming it's a common issue as neither my driver or passenger recliner works.. I'm looking on Rockauto and the like for a replacement motor as I'm assuming it's the issue, but it looks like they just sell one motor that supposedly controls everything including reclining.. Is there something else I should be looking for? Thanks

Re: Power Seat Recliner?

My passenger side recliner doesn't work either. I replaced the motor thinking it was the problem. Turns out that the grease for track/ screw was dried up and binding and the motor couldn't turn. I have just lived with it. Don't think there's a way to fix the problem. I just glad that my driver's side seat has a manuel recliner.

It can all be cleaned and lubricated, the cable drive can be lubricated as well... More than most of the time that is the problem and the solution to the problem.. But the seat has to come out and partially come apart

Re: Power Seat Recliner?

So the cable drive is likely the problem? Yeah, the seat will move ~1/2 inch either direction before stopping. The rest works fine. It wouldn't be the first time I had the seat out and apart so it's doable. I'll probably have to get the Camaro out of storage so I've got something to drive in the meantime.

Yeah for the most part... The seat will have to come apart as there are parts that need to be cleaned a lubed... after that in most cases the seat works like new...
