Daytime Running Lights DRL inop?

Hey all, I have a 2000 LT 5.3L Tahoe and I have a DRL question.

Mine (both grille lights) arent on at all, I have not checked the bulbs yet but I read that there is an indicator on the dash???...what does this look like and obviously mine isnt on. I also have one fog light lamp out, what do I need to begin checking other than the bulb since I dont recognize a DRL indicator on my dash first? Thanks for your help!

Oh yeah, its the new body style 2000 and if i press the dome button 4 times my headlights go out when its dark and in Park with headlight switch off

The DRL indicator in the dash was for the old body style that used the regular low beam bulbs for DRL's.

I don't think your new body style has one in the dash.

MY 2000 SIL NEW BODY STYLE no drl indicator.

replace the drl with the new LL long life lamps...auto zone has them 4157LL I believe is the number also replace both not one , even if one was out ..

the fog lamps maybe other issues ,,,check for cable/connector damage...

Thank you for the replies. I will change the bulbs and go from there. I figured since I didnt see an indicator that a module may have been out... Im starting to think the guy I bought it from just let everything go until he couldnt take it anymore, dash lights, window motor, power switches, fp, cats, 4x4 switch...lol...a whole lot of little repairs here and there

these items are common failures with these vehicles.

the ABS front speed sensors on the rusting front hub wheel bearings are the other issue with these vehicles...at slow speeds,, 2mph the brakes stop working...

you must check the IGN E and the DRL fuses...

the feed for the lamps comes from the DRL fuse...the Feed for the relay coil comes from the IGn E fuse ..

check to see if the relay is energized ...if the relay is not energized this could be the relay or a ground , BCM connectors etc...

jumping relay pins 30 and 87 see if the lamps light ..pins 85 is the coil ground and 86 is the feed from IGN E fuse ..

..
