Is it engine problems with 91 caprice?

First off, in order to start it i have to give it gas (push on the gas pedal) while turning ignition to get it to start. If I try to start it normally it wont start.. can you shoot me towards some repair tips.



2.After it starts, i have to keep foot on pedal lightly while in park to keep it idle, if not car will SHUT OFF. Also the car drives great speeds 25 and up but when i idle at lights/stops/signs it will cut off if i dont keep on gas pedal.( i have been driving it like a clutch keeping brakes on at lights while lightly giving gas.)


3.Lastly after, i got the radiator replaced thinking it would fix the overheating and rumbling/rattling. but this only helped a little the car doesnt overheat for 2-3 hours of driving compared to 30 mins. but after i got radiator replaced it smoked white heavily, so i flushed and use water now no smoke rides good except problem #2,

What should i do ..

.....the car has 223000 miles on it. whats best bet for replacing engine or give me thoughts all is welcome.

sounds like this vehicle is ready for the scrap yard..too old to spend more than the value of this...

get a newer vehicle..
