1/24 Ferrari 250 GTO, Model Factory Hiro..finished

Just finished this one...took me a year with many breaks and a lot (!) of frustration.
There is also a little build report here:

http://www.modellboard.net/index.php?topic=27674.0

but I didn't finished that one because I just wanted to get rid of that car asap.
Lot of scratchbuilding, grinding and sanding went into it...used two sets of windscreens and they still don't fit, used three sets of decals, clear looks terrible in some areas and will for sure change my clear brand on my next build...enough said, here some pics.

Very nice, particularly interesting as I'm building the same kit!

Re: 1/24 Ferrari 250 GTO, Model Factory Hiro..finished

do yourself a favour and start testfitting very early because I had so much trouble bringing the kit together...the windscreen was a "pita" ;-) I used two sets and it still doesn't fit. but to me the body doesn't look symetrical, so the screen doesn't fit on one side. also make sure to testfit the suspensions and wheels very early. I had to snip of the wheels "connection-pin" (?) to move the front wheels a little backwards. for me the kit was 60% fun and 40& pure terror and there fore the finish is only average :-(

Hi Daniel, The WIP for my build is on this forum and yes I will test fit everything, I've already made big mods to the font suspension, the rear axel position and ride height and it now has a good stance; it's a lovely kit.
congratulations on completing, you should be proud of the finished model, these kits are always a challenge but that's why we build them!
Cheers,
Lee

Well, your photos certainly don´t show all the flaws I awaited when reading your introduction. Therefore I think it is very well done. Congratulations.

I have to agree with the guys here. With all of your problems it seems you overcame them quite well. I really like the color and decals on this. Definitely a change of pace from all the red ones you see.
Nice work!
