Cool BMW M3 (e30)

BMW M3. I love this car. One of the greatest cars of the 20th century.

Hey Stratos75 are you building the DTM version or just improving the kit in general? Well my question is how much are you lifting the roof up by? & if your building the DTM version will the decals fit that go over the windscreen Pillar?
I've got the DTM transkit from Studio27 but I'm not sure if the decal(#31 on the DTM version) will be long enough if you extend the winscreen pillar, the yellow arrow is pointing to the part I mean!

Re: Bmw m3 e30

Looks great so far, I too am doing an M3 using the rubbish Fujimi base kit and understand the effort required. My WIP is here if you would like to compare notes!:http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1009934 You have gone further by doing the bonnet and boot though. I realised the boot needed to be slightly curved from above but thought the bonnet looked ok, it appears I was wrong! Keep up the good work!

I want to build both, the road and DTM version.
I lift ap the roof approximately by 1,8 mm.
I don't see any problem with the decal: you may to paint this place by the same colour.
2 Viccario: I saw your thread, and your progress is very good! Thank you for kind wish.
Now the front end modification.

Looks great, your modifications make a "real" BMW M3 out of the kit

Re: Bmw m3 e30

Hello,
This is the first time I post a message on automotiveforms.

I'm following this project, very interesting.

I also made this Fujimi BMW M3, I lifted the roof by 2mm and cut it between the B and C-pillar. To make the model more realistic I shortened the trunks at the rear also by 2 mm.
I used some rims from a Tamiya Nissan skyline to match the original.
For the decals I used some aftermarked decals from Studio27.

Nice project,

Joka-1

Re: Bmw m3 e30

Hi Stratos,

that´s awesome. It would be very nice to get a resin copy of the body when you´ll finish the bodywork!! I think, I´m not the only one who has interest on it.

Tschö

Rubbish base kit? Couldn't agree more! I mean they can omit or made mistakes on details, but how can they produce a car with such obvious mistake?? It's funny though, this is the only plastic kit ever produced! Why won't someone reissue a correct model? I am sure it will be a big hit!
