Pictures of new Wing, Splitter and of course... MEATS!

Went to a Chin event at Road Atlanta yesterday (David and I were the only Panoz Representatives there) and took a few pictures of the car with the new splitter and wing supports. The mods made a fantastic difference in the corners and made the car feel much more "glued" everywhere on the track.

The combination of down force and monster meats sent me through turn 12 the fastest I've ever gone before. Would have probably scared myself if I had time to think about it.

Here are some pics...

Very cool.
By the way, did adding the holes in the rear window help getting some of the heat out of the cabin? This car is hot.

Nice. Hard to tell from the photos but something we have found with the splitter is that the angle of attack is critical. The flat plane of the splitter must be horizontal to the ground or slightly lower at the front but never higher at the front. If it is higher you will produce lift.

Good eye Kel. The AOA is slightly higher at one point and needs adjusting to be perfectly horizontal all around. I mentioned it to Tiny and I believe it's on his list to lower it a tad. BTW, I saw the photo's of your car... it's a beauty!

About a foot or so Brian. Maybe someday we'll enclose the entire undercarriage but that's probably more of a thought than a reality.

Jim, you should have stayed a little longer. The weather cleared up for the afternoon sessions. Kind of made up for the rainy morning session.

My first response would be to say that I did that to mess with you. But my REAL response is HOLY CRAP! I have NO IDEA how that happened! That's just the way that CCW sent them to me and I never noticed.

I don't see David's POS in any of the shots. Are you sure he was there?

Re: Pictures of new Wing, Splitter and of course... MEATS!

Crazy..that is the first thing that I noticed...i was like....something is odd with the pictures...I noticed it the last time but forgot to post. Its really easy to fix. I unfortunately have had to do it a few times (ouch). Just take the valve stem out first to relieve the pressure so you dont have to dismount the rubber (just forgot that step this weekend...ooops). Remove all the bolts and move the center piece to the other side and redo all the bolts. Torque to 30 - ft/lbs

I am surprised they even work like that. Plus you must have almost no steering around the pits. Did you put in new steering stops yet? I have yet to do that. Are you running the front spacers still? I am.

I have some more tires for you soon. I am sure you need them right away...hehe

What kind of problems would I expect to experience if I leave it like it is? Their not going to self destruct are they?

As for steering, it's as good as it ever was, maybe even better... seriously.

Yes, I put the spacers on and left them.

Steering stops... no. As well as everything is working, I'm afraid to mess with it.
