401 fault
2002 F150 4.2 V6 the service engine light keeps coming on. I have replaced the ptfe sensor, checked the egr pipes for blockage. I took the egr valve off, it had carbon in it but the valve moved up and down, cleaned it as best as I could. Put everything back together and no light yet, but this is the second ptfe sensor I have repalced in 6 months. Anyone else ever have this?

Re: 401 fault
When you had the EGR off, did you clean the passages in the intake? If there is a blockage in the passages, that code will occur.

Re: 401 fault
No I did not, didn't want anything going into the intake. How can you do it without getting carbon in the intake?

Re: 401 fault
There will be some fall inside. Use a small vacuum with a small nozzle and vacuum it out as you clean. A little falling inside the intake will not hurt anything.
