02 dakota trans problems
A friend had the transmission fluid changed for the first time after 96,000 miles in his 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 4WD Automatic trans. There were no trans issues before the change.
Shortly after the trans fluid was changed, he said the trans was behaving strangely, shifting differently and taking longer for the gears to engage, also CEL was now on. He took it back to the shop that performed the change and they scanned for codes and came up with the following: P0841 LR Pressure switch P0876 UD Pressure switch P0734 Gear ratio error 4th P0732 Gear ratio error 2nd They now say the trans needs to be rebuilt. Does this sound right? Any input will be appreciated.

Re: 02 dakota trans problems
check to see what fluid was put in, if it isn't Mopar ATF+4, it WILL have problems. These transmissions are very finnicky about the type of fluid used in them.
