Does my 95 PAU just have 2-wheel ABS?
I was under the impression I had 4-wheel ABS, but there is a stop sign going around a sharp corner on a very very steep hill that I take every morning and I've heard what sounds like my right rear wheel locking and sliding. This is the most apparent case but the rears have slid a time or two in emergency stops and such. The ABS works in the front wheels just fine.
My BPMV is out of a 92 or 93 LeSabre as it's the only one I could find with traction control to replace my bad one. Does this have anything to do with it, or did the car just come with 2 wheel ABS? No trouble lights. |

Has 4w abs, look for wires going into the back of the rear wheel hubs.

Re: Does my 95 PAU just have 2-wheel ABS?
That might actually be part of the problem.... But....
Yank the rear drums and make sure the shoes are dry... If you are locking the rear brakes, the ABS should kick in and help you... iirc 94-95 ABS Pumps were a bit different in how they were controlled.. But I am not 100% certain... Check the rear brakes first to be sure there are no issues first.. |

Re: Does my 95 PAU just have 2-wheel ABS?
Interesting. At said stop sign in the rain today, my rear left tire (as opposed to the usual rear right) locked and engaged ABS. So the problem is likely in the RR. On a possibly related note, the reason for replacing my BPMV was Right Rear circuit valve malfunction. I wonder if this could be related. Maybe there is some kind of a short or something in the RR speed sensor that damaged the BPMV?
