gapping new spark plugs

Can someone please tell me how to gap spark plugs that have 2 or more ground electrodes like the E3 plugs or the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs? I am used to the ones with only 1 electrode.

I'd have to double-check, I believe those are pre-gapped, you don't gap them.

Drop them in the trash can and get the AC-Delco plugs your AC- Delco book calls for.

All Platinum AC plugs come pre gaped and you should not try to gap them.
If not right gap pitch them back and get ones that are.

our engines are very picky on plugs ..do not use E3 plugs..
I have used bosch +2 plugs with no problems BUT many have had problems with these as well...

best use the ac delco ..

when checking gaps be very careful and gentile ...you can damage the fragile tip very easy,,,if it cracks you will have misefire...

torque to 15ft lbs..

multi tip has no gap spec...

Thank you all for your help, I will change to AC Delco soon. I also didn't know you could chip the tip of the plugs, thanks for the info. Just an after thought, why are AC Delco plugs better than say Champion for my trucks' engine?

You can chip the tipm and do other bad things to it if you fool around with it.
Ac Delco is made for GM.
No other brand spark plug will match or matches the proper heat range and specs for the GM engine.
Alo on the chiping side.
Most GM platruinm prugs come with instruction in Ac delco plug book not to regap it.
If not the proper gap pitch it back and get one that does.
Old school and new school.
Champions plugs in cry cars and Motorcraft plugs for Ford stuff.

I went to the store I usually get my truck stuff from, checked the chart for the proper AC Delco plugs but they didn't have them listed, they were on the shelf though. Does anyone know what plugs I need, 2000 Silverado 2500 6 litre 4X4, thanks. I suppose I could have asked.

Yes you should have asked and had them check the latest AC delco spark plug book.

Did you buy what was on the shelf?
Or what made you think they were the right ones?

The plugs have been changed from factory plugs s[pecs and no.

Always check and ask.

The 2006 Ac delco spark plug book I have shows 41-985 gaped at .040"

Factory specs /OEM plugs are a different no and gap.
