01 Ram 2500 5.9L Fault Codes

Hello all, i just recently purchased this Dodge and don't know much about them since I usually buy ford products. I just couldn't pass the deal up, I had to put a water pump on it. It's getting 2 fault codes a P0455 and P0422 and was just wondering if anybody here had any ideas, thanks in advance.

P0455 Evap Leak Monitor Large Leak Detected.
A large leak has been detected in the evaporative system.

I don't show a P0422 in my manual.

Here's a coupla threads,

Thanks for the reply Chris, I am still kind of in the dark about the whole thing since I don't know much about Dodge products. A post in one of the links mentioned a faulty gas cap. I wonder if it could be this simple, I know the CEL was lit when I bought it and I cleared it out and drove it for several days before it came back on.

I'd do the easiest first....fuel tank cap.
Most chain type auto parts stores do free scans.

I would also perform a quick check on the hoses at the charcoal canister, purge and test port....just look under the hood there is a emission label locate it and it'll give you a description of where the components are located and the names.

You nailed it my friend, the hoses on both of those items had large gashes in them where they slide on the barbs. The one at the test port on the right fender I just cut the end of it off and slid it back on. The one on the charcoal canister was a little tricky. It had a 90 degree bend in it and the local auto parts stores didn't have anything like it. So I just improvised and got some hose that was the same ID as the old one and slid it on there. Hopefully it isn't going to be kinked too much, maybe that'll solve my problem. I'll just have to drive it a while and see how it does, I'm starting to like the old truck even though it is a goat. Something else I noticed, the air filter housing seems to be damaged. It looks like there are supposed to be some tabs on the back side but it looks as if they are broken. The entire air filter is exposed. Anybody know where I might be able to pick one up fairly cheap? Thanks for all the help guys!
