07 T&C Using Oil

My aunt has a 2007 T&C with the 3.8L and 47,500 miles. The last few weeks it has been using oil to the tune of about a quart every 1000 miles? No drips, nothing wet, and no excessive smoke. Any thoughts...

Re: 07 T&C Using Oil

Chrysler would say a quart every 1000 miles is just fine. You and I wouldn't. PCV valve?

Re: 07 T&C Using Oil

It IS technically acceptable for any engine to use 1qt of oil every 1000 miles. I would do a compression, leakdown test. THis will tell you if you have any internal engine issues. Next I would focus on the PCV system as well.
