1999 corolla Ignition or solinoid
Hi all,
Just bought a used 99 with 100K on it,figures from a dealer,He is too far away to take this back, and be without the car, for who knows how long, anyway, turning the key I get just a click or nothing, then it will start after a few tries. worried about getting stuck someplace, but when it does turn over the battery sounds strong. starts right up, possibly a loose connection to the starter or just the starter missing a gear tooth, I bought this for my Mom was hoping I would not have to wokr on it much, but gezzzz the 2nd day.. car is pretty solid, also what else should I check over, this was all I could afford, and I figure this will last a few years she only drives maybe 3k a year if that.. thanks for any help on where to start.. I think it needs a new starter, how hard is it to get too.. Kappy oh one other thing the battery is made by toyoto is this pretty old then, the wife has a 01 camary just replaced the battery, and that was a panasonic I think it was the original she only has 48k on her car.. should have gave that to my mom, and the wife could have got a new one.. yeah right LOL thanks all. |

Re: 1999 corolla Ignition or solinoid
Check all the connections first, at the battery and starter. But if you must replace it, At Autozone the stater is about $105.
Duralast Import / Starter Part Number: 17323 Price: $104.99 $38.00 Core Total: $142.99 Did one last year. Couple of hours; I move slow. Not too difficult, couple of bolts. |
