what engine to swap into an 03 spec v

so, my cat got clogged up and some of the ceramic material got sucked back into the engine, this is pretty common on these cars, i took the cat off and cleared the rest of the exhaust pipe out. but now this thing is burning a shit tonne of oil. im thinking a valve or ring. either way im not going to take the risk of diagnosing the problem and then finding something else wrong in another piston because of the ceramic material. i should also mention that this happened to me 2 days after i bought it. im going to bitch slap the fucker soo hard if i ever see him again.

anyways back to what matters, what im wondering is what engine should i swap in there. i was thinking a sr20det or even a rb 25 or 26. or a vq35de but i think it might be too explensive i just want the most power i can get. and something pretty reliable. i don't know too much about engines so im wondering if you can just swap any engine in there

Re: what engine to swap into an 03 spec v

a newer qr25de would probly be the easiest and cheapest route, and sr20det from a pulsar i think is also possible and good for 230hp,but,(i think,im not 100% sure) your gonna have to get drivetrain components from the 1.8 sentra.

An rb25 would be a waste of time and money ,to much fabrication work and youd have to convert it to rear wheel drive ,so you can pretty much forget about it.
lastly, the vq35de ,you can probly get an engine and tranny out of a wrecked altima or maxima for pretty cheap, probly not too much more than the stock qr25, ive seen it done in the past but im not sure how difficult it is.

I have a 2002 with 80k miles and all i did was replace the headers and put a high flow cat ,havent had to many problems with it,personally id just get a newr qr and replace some of the problematic parts.
