BMW 320i Gr.5 1977 - Tribute to Gilles

This is my try to the well known of Tamiya's BMW 320i Gr.5 1977 in 1/24 for Gilles Villeneuve and Eddie Cheever class wining car of Mosport 6hour race back to 1977.

Thanks for looking...
One little advance to the most spectacular F1 driver for his 28th memory of his death (8 May 1982 - 8 May 2010).
Salut Gilles...

Great car. One minor point I would offer is that you may have achieved a better result with the tyre logos by using decals as painting the letters is very tricky. Overall looks good though.

Your are absolotely rightabout the logo on tyres. I 've a little problem. The tyres has relief logo . Can to attach decal over it?

I would not recommend putting the decals over the raised lettering, but I think the Tamiya tyres don't have raised letters on both sides? So you could turn them around and put the decals on the other side. But if they have lettering on both sides you could sand the lettering off before applying the decals.

Generally, decals do not stick very well to tyres. Dry transfers are a much better choice, but accurate painting with acrylic paint can be done as well, and it looks much better than decals or transfers IMO.

360 Spider -

I agree and I would have attempted painting the letters, but my comments were to offer an alternative as gtziaf appeared to have problems with painting the letters.

First apply clear coat, let it dry, and than apply the (wet) transfer/decal.
After that apply some matt varnis. Thake's a few days but gives a good result.

Also when you put on these tiny little PE rivets, apply a little bit of super glue with a toothpick on the spot you want the PE rivet on (mark it first with a feltpen) then lay over the rivet.

Succes

Thanks for the advice... Very cool... I 've some quenstions for these (wet) transfer/decals, so your words are very useful.

For the PE rivet, I already corected. In my Ferrari 625 i put over 60 of the with no problem. In this I put 8, and one is "offside" .
Thanks again...
