Buzzing noise

Help, I just bought a used Pontiac Grand Prix 06, there seems to be a buzzing noise in the dash. It's coming from the panel behind the steering wheel. It almost sounds like old dial up connections, but more faint. Everything seems to be working fine, there are no lights on? Has anyone experienced this?

Re: Buzzing noise

Welcome to AF.

How often do you hear the buzzing sound? Is it continuous or random?

Re: Buzzing noise

Hi thanks for the reply,

It's continuous, as soon as you start the car until you turn if off. It sounds as if it's coming from the intrument panel, where the speedometer is . It does have variations in the buzzing, but nothing seems to cause it.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Buzzing noise

Do all the IP gauges do their run up self test routine and drop back to normal?

Can you get a video/sound clip of the noise?

Re: Buzzing noise

HELLO. My 06 GT has the same buzzing in the dash. I do not really want to go into the dash at this time to find out what is making this buzzing sound. I will subscribe to this thread to see what other ideas arise. For now I will just turn the tunes up a notch. I have posted before on this problem last year but did not receive many replies. Hope you have better luck.

THANKS

Re: Buzzing noise

What happens when you pull the DISPLAYS fuse (10 A). Is the noise still there or does it disappear? Keep in mind since B+ is being removed the IP gages will not operate properly.
