2002 Eclipse GT Radio locked?

As stated in a previous thread (RE: Inop Fuel Gage) I just bought this car for my son, we bought it from a small used car dealer and the factory stereo unit is locked, the center information center (top center of dash) reads "CODE" Does anyone know how to un-lock this code so that he can play the stereo/cd player. He does plan to change the head unit and put in all the latest stereo equipment like boosters and subs and the like, but untill then he would like to have some tunes, any help would make a 17 year old young man quite happy and you help is appreciated.

Get the serial number off of he top of the radio and call up a local Mitsubishi dealer. They should be nice enough to give you the code. Use 1234 preset buttons to pu it in.
