Shifts Hard

My 1999 Pontiac Montana Shifts really hard. ATRS said it had a bad selaniod. How difficult is that to change myself since I do not want to spend $300.00 letting them fix it if I can do it myself!!

Re: Shifts Hard

Its not easy to replace that solenoid... Its called the electronic pressure control, this is a common failure item on these transmissions... For $300 its honestly worth it to let them replace it... You could attempt the replacement, but by the time you get it all done you'll be wishing you would have paid the $300 to have it done..

Re: Shifts Hard

Do a search for "shift", you'll see a few threads about adding a shift kit. This worked well for my hard shifts
