Front Seat stuck forward

I have an 03 explorer limited. The other day I moved the front passenger seat all the way forward to put some things in the back of the truck. I went to move it back, and the seat is stuck all the way forward , almost touching the glove box. It has the power seat, and when I try to move it back, it clicks like it is trying to move, but can't. I don't know if maybe it slipped off the track because I moved it to far forward.

If anyone has had this problem or has any suggestions on how to fix it, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Re: Front Seat stuck forward

The first thing I'd do is make sure some of the "things" didn't get wedged under the seat, preventing it from moving.

Re: Front Seat stuck forward

Thanks for responding Rod. I did check around the track, all is clean. May have to take the seat out, but since its a power seat, I may have to find a way to get power to it. Have to do something before the dealership tries to rape me.

Re: Front Seat stuck forward

If it is clicking when you try to move it, you have power to it. Something is binding up the motor and causing the electric motor to stall. You might try raising the seat bottom (assuming that is also adjustable) and see if that gives you enough clearance to see what is causing the issue (do you happen to have a mechanic's mirror?) or gain access to the bolts holding the seat in place.
