Installing AUX input on stock radio
So I just became the proud new owner of a 2006 Buick Lacrosse CX.
Trouble is, I've become very accustomed to playing my music off my iPhone when I'm driving, and my old car had an aftermarket radio with an aux input right on the front plate for doing just that. I really want to keep the stock radio and looks of the Lacrosse, but I'm going to have trouble stomaching the huge step backward to using CD's again (blegh).
Does anyone know of a good DIY way to install an AUX input into the stock radio?

you will have to do some searching. Typically, interfacing aftermarket components to factory radios is a dicey operation at best.

P.S. going from ANYTHING to ipod audio is a HUGE step backwards for everything but convenience.

If the back of the stock radio has a set up RCA inputs then there might be a chance. Having factory inputs became popular when mulit disc cd changes were the "must have". If it does have RCA inputs then first try an adapt-o kit for RCA to headphone plug. The headphone plug will then plug right into the iphone.

Sometimes and aftermarket "interpretor" is required because the receiver doesn't recognize the headphone plug. I have an "interpretor" in by boat and truck. They run about $50.

DO NOT get one of those deals that plays thru a radio station. Where you set the frequency and dial the receiver to that frequency. The sound quality is horrible and the static is just frustrating.
