95 ram, headlights just quit working

Everything else works, parking lights, turn signals, brake lights, etc... No warning, just shut it off one day and they next day, no workie. No blown fuses or relays, and one bulb is 4 months old, the other is 2 months old. Is it the switch or is there something else I'm missing?

Thanks,
Jay

The headlight switch and the dimmer switch are both common culprits,it was the dimmer switch on my 99 ram 2500.Try pushing forward slightly on the dimmer switch and see if they come on.

Re: 95 ram, headlights just quit working

I had the same thing happen to my 1996 one night driving down the road. Just had to replace the switch. It's cheap and took about 10 minutes. If I remember right I just took the dash bezel off and unscrewed the old one.

Re: 95 ram, headlights just quit working

i have on 01 sport and the same thing happend come to find out there is a purple/white wire that breaks inside from tilting the steering wheel the outside insulation didnt break just the wire inside (my problem was on the low beam side) and later on the wires pulled loose from the connector inside the wheel also caused by the tilt wheel......this all leads back to the dimmer on the turn signal stem......hope this helps you...i should also mention that mine has the sport package and they have the dual head lamps and the regular one only has single bulbs not sure if it makes a difference in the wiring or not???
