Ferrari F187/88c - Fujimi 1/20th kit

I've been working on this for about a month. I added some seatbelts from MFH, replacement decals from Tabu and a few photo etch rivet heads. Otherwise a simple OOB build. Painted with Zero Rosso F1 (70's and 80's) over Tamiya white primer and cleared with Zero 2K.
Comments most welcome.

Looks great, Steve. Seems to be a good kit that builds nicely (close to) OOB.

Wow! Beautiful work. Love the unidirectional CF on the front wing. Is it molded? Special technique?

Great work as always

I'm also interested in the effect on the front wing

It's molded into the plastic by Fujimi and it's a very subtle effect. I painted the wings gloss black, added the decals and then very lightly over sprayed satin clear to give the results in the pictures....

It's a good kit overall. You just need to watch the paint build up around the panel edges to make sure the bodywork fits well at the end. Also the front suspension arms could be improved where they meet the monocoque with the addition of some turned nut and bolt heads on the brackets. If I built it again I would do that. But it really builds into a nice model straight from the box to be honest.

Ferrari produced some less than competitive cars during that age, but they sure were beautiful to look at. Your model did justice to the looks of the real thing. Congratulations!
