2001 Pontiac Montana 110k miles

My wife has complained that the van with on occasion honk when she is driving it. It has never done this one me but I have to admit it is her car so I don't drive it nearly as much. She said it is usually at a stop sign or when she is going through a drive through or something like that. Just one short honk and nothing else. We have no other problems with the van right now belive it or not. It has had some other electrical issues but seems to be doing ok for now. The electric slider door has a mind of it own depending on the day. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I have kinda just gave up on it and let it do it's thing but the honking is embarassing and I will have to figure out what it causing that.
Thanks for any advice given!
Rob

The horn contacts in the steering wheel MAY be at fault.

Re: 2001 Pontiac Montana 110k miles

I know this is kind of old but the van seemed to have stopped honking for a few months but now it is back at it again. It even honked on ME saturday and we were going down the interstate about 65mph. One short honk then fine. I didn't have my hand on the horn/airbag either. (for some reason I think it has to do with the alarm but don't really know why I think that)
Any other ideas. I don't really know of a way to check the clock spring. I guess Just have to replace it huh?

Re: 2001 Pontiac Montana 110k miles

my wife said we should form a club. Mine does the same thing lol never have been able to figure it out and it's quite rare. It's probably only done it 10-15 times total and I have 240,000 miles on mine. Its just a work van now, pretty much on its last leg but it won't die..... just keeps running and running and its all wheel drive so I love it in the winter. I'll deal with a horn blast every now and then. I don't care....
