04 Envoy Battery light stays on

The battery light stays on even when suv is off. We have proper voltage. The light is very dim but it is on. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks for any help.

Have the alt tested for a bad diode and or output. Do any other accessories stay on, key off, open first to kill the accessory circuit first.

does it crank and start okay? it may be a short in the ignition switch, causing voltage to be present, even when the key is out of the ignition.
