Coolant Fans
At what temp should the temp fans come on? I only see them run when the AC compressor is on. Maybe I'm just over worried. The temp gauge goes past the half way point and a little close the red, and the fans don't come on. If I run the AC the gauge stay at about 1/3. Any input is welcome.

Re: Coolant Fans
My fan comes on when the temp gauge gets about to 2/3 if yours gets real close to the red line and no fan comes on I'd get it checked out, or just remember to always use the a/c

Re: Coolant Fans
Without the AC running the fans should come on at 230 - 233 degs. On hot days I always watch the temp guage because unlike other cars that I have driven in the past the needle gets closer to the red than I am used to. Actually, the temp gauge on my van gets about 3/4 from the beginning line before the fans come on. When my van is running at highway speed temp is 199 and gauge is just slightly above beginning hash mark
You might want to get a scanner that way you can watch the coolant temp.... Maybe just a bad thermostat? |

Re: Coolant Fans
My temp guage reads right at the lowest mark, when it starts to get a few degrees over 195 it will QUICKLY rise to 1/2 mark, the fans come on about 3/4 scanguage shows about 235* when they kick on.
