1999 Grand AM GT "Security Light"

I tried to start my car the other day and it was spitting and sputtering like it was out of fuel. But then I noticed the "Security" light was flashing.

I turned the key to the "on" position for 1 minute,
and then it started.

Here is a picture of my keys.
the key to the left is the one i've used for the last 8 years.
the key to the right is my spare key.

could this trigger the security light?

If it's the car has not learned the transponder on your car I believe that would kick on the security light and cut the fuel pump.
