98 F-150 with 4.2 V6 to 4.6 V8

Ok here's what I have I have a 98 F-150 with a blown engine the engine in the truck was a 4.2 V6.. But I also have a 4.6 V8 that came out of a 98 Lincoln town car that was totaled.. I'm looking for some information about doing a swap.. first of all will the bigger engine fit. and second will I need to do anything with the wiring harness.. I figure that I'm going to need to pull the ECU but will the wiring harnesses in the vehicles be the same..

has anyone done this with this engine that can give me advice.

thanks
J

no the wiring harnesses are different. you have two more injectors, two more cylinders etc. I do believe your looking at more work and money than its worth. thats even if your bell housing matches up to your transmission
