No start

My son has a 94 with a 5.0 I think. Anyway he was driving and was turning and did a little curb check and the engine died. . He can not hear the fuel pump come on like he used to. The engine will crank but not start. Also some of the dash light quit at the same time. An ideas? Thanks

Re: No start

The fuel pump inertia switch might have opened. Look for a red button in the trunk above the drivers side wheel well.

Re: No start

What else isn't working? What dash lights don't work? Is there 12V on both wires at the fuel pump inertia switch when the key is in the Run position?

Re: No start

What about voltage at the inertia switch? Your problem could be a relay but I don't have an electrical diagram for your year TBird to say for sure. Here is an electrical manual on Ebay that is worth buying. It will tell you if the fuel pump and other circuits are powered through a relay. If you don't understand electrical diagrams the potcopy the pages with the components that don't work and send them to me. You can also go to a library and ask for the Mitchell electrical manual for your year car and photocopy the pages that you need out of it.
