Fuel pump strainer
Good morning everyone. I ran a search but could not find a suitable answer. Are the fuel pump strainers on our 97-03 fuel pumps serviceable? If so, are they easy to remove off the pump and clean? If it needs to be replaced, is there a part number or can they even "be" replaced? I had my pump out and noticed that my strainer is packed absolutely full of debris. I would like to clean it out to lighten the pumps load if that's even applicable...Thanks in advance. 97 GT 3.8 non-supercharged. 144,000 miles..

Re: Fuel pump strainer
Paul the fuel strainer is serviceable and/or replaceable. It depends on the condition of it. Due to the age of your GP I would replace it but you can try cleaning it with compressed air.
You can get the Fuel Strainer Kit at the GM dealership or any AC Delco authorized parts supplier. The AC Delco part number for '97-'99 GPs is TS67.
