89 K-5 Blazer w/crack in frame by steering box & won't turn right

I just purchase an 89 K-5 Blazer. There is a crack in the frame near the steering box. I was told that this is a common problem. I have the frame weld plate on order and have a guy ready to weld it on when the part arrives. The problem is that the truck will not turn right! The tires are extremely low because the previous owner used it as a rock crawler on the rubicon. That's how the frame was cracked. Does anyone have a clue why the truck isn't turning right? It's turning left and goes straight. Thanks for your help!!

the box is probably turning right off the frame and kinking the linkage left pushes against the frame so the box doesnt move just the linkage or the box is bad
