AC repair compressor change out
OK ac clutch failed, still cools just can,t hear over the bad clutch noise, removed belt, so I purchased a new compressor set up with drier and expansion valve, questions is how hard is it to get to the expansion valve and should I flush system and change expansion valve or just flush all lines I can get to and leave expansion valve alone? I know you can not flush through the expansion valve. Need AC live in FL.

Re: AC repair compressor change out
Has to be taken to a professional anyway, might as well ask him these questions. Any time the system is opened you need to pull a vacuum on it before recharging, not to mention reclaiming the old juice.

Re: AC repair compressor change out
I have a spare used clutch I can sell if you want to eliminate the hassel of changing out the compressor. You said it still cools right?
Thanks, Ron |
