drilling ignition cylinder

I replaced my ignition cylinder about 6 months ago, correctly, and by the book. However, my new problem is the new cylinder won't allow for the key to turn to the acc position, It looks like the only alternative is to drill out the cylinder. Any suggestions on how to get this done? I feel confident I won't drill too far, I just didn't know if there was a best practice with htis sort of thing.
