NASA - PBIR Race Weekend April 24/25

Hello All - This weekend I am racing ST1 on Sat and Sun at PBIR. Looks like there are 40+ race cars split between 2 groups. I saw 2 other ST1 yellow vettes signed up and a SU Diasio. I think I have a good chance of winning my class and overall. Its rare that I am able to win overall so I am very excited. Come out and support if you can. My team has all new matching jerseys, the car has fresh paint and all kinds of new parts (thanks to some POS in a porsche from Sebring ) - We should look good and hopefully have some good racing and bring home a podium. This is my local track (45 mi from home) so we should have some extra fun and get to sleep @ home at night which is nice.

Sat. Schedule (Thunder Race Group):

Sun. Schedule (Thunder Race Group):

Who's coming?

Re: NASA - PBIR Race Weekend April 24/25

Saturday went well. We qualified 2nd overall and first in class and finished first overall and first in class. Car ran great. My engine builder Mike from TEC showed up and really woke my engine up. He changed the secondary squirt to one much smaller. BINGO it was amazing. it revved so much faster and sounded nasty. The day went smooth as can be. Sunday was as good as Sat. Made all kinds of changes to the handling of the car. Took out some angle on the wing, added camber to one side and removed some from the other side, changed tire pressures, adjusted the rebound on the shocks, loosened up the sway bars, etc. That all added up to taking 2+ seconds off my best lap time from the day before and the fastest lap was the white flag last lap of the race. AWESOME. I qualified on the pole and led to the checkered. All the changes seemed to be working. Car is in the trailer running better than when it went in Friday. Thanks to all those that helped: My crew Gary Jr., Bo, Kristin, Team manager Gary Sr., Engine Builder Mike K. at TEC (Total Engine Concepts)

Next Race is Homestead May 22-23, 2010
Videos of the weekend will be posted soon.

Great stuff Brian, look forward to checking out the video. I will be able to use as motivation for the 6 hour which we have coming up on the 15th of May.

Sounds like you had a great weekend. I have always said that if you load up the car looking and running the same as you unload it it's a good weekend and if you get those $5 trophy's if that much better.

The video was right after a three lap yellow...so the first 3 laps is a little sloppy warming the tires up.

I would love to get a Panoz group showing up together in Florida. Sebring in June?

Re: NASA - PBIR Race Weekend April 24/25

We are planning on going to VIR in June and running some R A events. I think Sebring and Daytona may be on our list for the fall when it's a little bit cooler.

No luck here either, but I'm not a member of face book so that might have something to do with it.
