Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Hello everyone,
Yesterday I started on a new kit, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia by Fujimi. This seems to be quite a good kit but to add some more detail I'll be using a Photo-etch set and some metal transfers. To start here are some pictures of the box and it's containings. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The brakes were the parts I started on, here are the disks with the PE-parts: ![]() I also tried to give the disks a "used" look. I did this by putting them on my electric hand drill and sanding them which creates these little rings on the disks. ![]() Remy |

Re: Ferrari 430 Scuderia
I see a Ferrari California in the background that I'd like to see pictures of! Nice work so far on the 430.

Re: Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Remy, as far as I understand, all Scuderias came with carbon ceramic brakes, so perhaps you could still correct that (not sure what your looks vs accuracy opinion is though
) And good luck with the kit, of course.

Re: Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Thanks guys for the replies. I'm not sure what to do with the brakes though, ales is right by saying the original brakes are carbon ceramic but I have no idea how to replicate these. Well here's a small update anyway. Not so much done but the body and the rims have been given their color.

Re: Ferrari 430 Scuderia

Good work tho!

This plus this, or this one. You could try searching the forum for more ideas, those are just the ones that I remembered. Good luck again, Alex

Re: Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Ive tried to replicate the carbon ceramic disks before, i had some pretty good success with:
Paint photoetched part Tamiya Light Gun Metal spray (lightly) then get a sharp scapel blade and sratch away areas in a random pattern to reveal the shinney metal, then use Tamiya smoke (paint) & use a thin tipped brush to again make a random pattern around the entire disk. Just a small tip, it worked pretty well. If you ever get to see a ceramic disk close up like on an Enzo it looks very badly mixed together parts are shinny, black, greys & cracked. It hardly looks expensive!!! This is manily for Road cars, a lot of race cars use full ceramic disks. Beautiful colour choice!!! I had a 430 Scud drive past me the other day, Damn they are sexy, so loud & was spitting & backfiring like a race car. God i want one!!!

Re: Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Nice body color you chose, do you plan to use the stock silver stripes on it? Nice color on the rims also, waiting to see more progress!

Nice colour choice (body & rims). Makes a refreshing change from red!

Re: Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Nice color!
As far as the brakes: try Alclad Magnesium, maybe coated by a thinned Tamiya smoke, and lastly a flat clear. This build looks like it is off to a great start! Andy |
