2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hood Piston's question
2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited H O
I need to get 2 hood pistons to replace the ones on my Jeep. They don't hold the hood up. Where is a good place to get them local. I live in the Boston area. I was thinking of getting a pair from Ebay for $32 with free shipping. Are they any good? Also are they hard to change? I haven't looked how they are attached. thanks |

Re: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hood Piston's question
I got the rear liftgate ones from ebay. The liftgate almost took my wife's chin off the first time she opened it.

Re: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hood Piston's question
most auto parts stores will carry them or can have them for you the next day. I went to a local Napa store and they had them in stock and were actually a liitle cheaper than what I saw on ebay. They were very easy to remove and replace. All you need is a thin screwdriver and you'll be done in less than 10 minutes. Be careful opening the hood...It will spring open pretty fast and if you're not ready for it, like pkucan said....it will about knock your chin off :-)

Re: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hood Piston's question
Rockauto.com has the best prices on hood & lift gate shocks. I bought all 4 for my GC Limited 5.9 for around $32.
