P0751 Shift Solenoid A Performance/Stuck Off

Well, I have another problems with my 200 Pontiac SSEi and this time it is the transmission that jerks when shifting. I checked the Service Engine Soon code and it says "P0751 Shift Solenoid A Performance/Stuck Off" . How do I fix this? Has anyone had this problem and what did you do to repair it. With two children in college, there is less money in the budget so I have had to fix as many things as possible. This one may be beyond my ability but I am willing to give it a shot if someone can give me some fairly good instructions.
I appreciate all the great help from everyone on the forum. Wonderful support and a wealth of knowledge.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: P0751 Shift Solenoid A Performance/Stuck Off

The usual solenoid issues here, the trans side cover must come off to access thes solenoids, not an easy job at home in the dwy, sometimes the subframe must be dropped to access removing the cover.

Re: P0751 Shift Solenoid A Performance/Stuck Off

Has anyone done it while the engine is in the car? Any secrets to doing it without tilting the engine?
Thanks,
Bob
