95 dodge transmission

i have a 95 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with the 360 about 2 weeks ago i was out and about mudding and lost reverse. The whole year before this happened when it was shifted into reverse it would shift hard and take a sec before reverse engaged. Any ideas i have all the up gears fine if i come to a stop quick and take off quick it wont down shift.
