Diagnosing/fixing short on Radio-dome circuit on 93 camry
How difficult is it to fix my dead radio and dome light circuit on my 93 camry?
I read the eletrical manual from turboninjas but to be honest I'm very beginner at this stuff. Is it worth it to just take it to a car audio place and let them fix it? I know from the person I got the car from that the fuse for this circuit would blow after a few minutes if the car was running, which leads me to believe it is a short in the circuit somewhere. But could that be anywhere, or is it likely a few small areas that the circuit could be shorting in? -AH |

Re: Diagnosing/fixing short on Radio-dome circuit on 93 camry
I'm actually getting ready to take this on for a friend's 93 this weekend. She said her dome light and radio weren't working.. I'm thinking quick fix.. changed the fuse. and popped immediately with the car completely off. I'll let you know how it goes if I can diagnose the problem. I've read that a factory amp is a possible cause.
The easiest way, I think.. unplug everything on that circuit. put a fuse in. then plug things back in one at a time. when the fuse blows, you've narrowed your search down drastically. Next comes the fun part of finding the exact cause and location. Could be a wire, could be internal in the device. But at least now you know where to look. |
