Studio 27 XJR-14 Silk Cut 1/24

Hi
can anybody help me?
I am looking at purchasing the above kit but wish to know if the purple swirls are included on the decal sheet or do they have to be masked?

I have found the Le Mans Miniature one has them as below but can't tell if the Studio 27 kit has them.

Also if anybody knows of where I may obtain the LMM kit could they possibly point me to it.

cheers

Mediamix has the S27 kit listed as in stock. Looking at the pixelated decal guide i'd say the dark swirls are decals like in the LMM kit.

The price is another story. If you don't need the kit right now and can wait for it to pop up on ebay you can save some money. I bought a gold line LMM kit off french ebay for 45€....

Yes, Studio27's does come with the purple swirls and from seeing both kits, I have to say Studio27's is the better of the two.

Your best bet is to get the Lemans Miniatures kit if you can find one. It is alot better than the Studio 27 kit in every way. LM made a curbside and detailed version. The detailed version has all molded in engine detail, sort of like a 1/43rd kit. If I was you I would look for a curbside version. They nailed the shape (Moro from LMM did the master)and all the details look great. The Studio 27 body does not look 100% correct.

I cannot affirm to you beyond doubt that the LMM kit is the best of both kits, but I do have the LMM curbside kit, and it is an excellent one. I think the more ellaborate "gold-line" edition wich has an engine, does not result as wel, fitting of the engine cover could be tricky to get a perfect looking model, even if it is possible, depending on your work abbility.

All I can say is that some of the LMM model kits are my all-time favorites, general body accuracy is excellent, and they are very "buildable" unlike other kit makers, the end result is often more convincing than models from other kit makers such as Studio27, or others.

The EXP-Bentleys (2001-2003) and the Rondeau-379b are some of my favorites and I can only wish this French producer would come back to present us some new 1/24 scale kit productions, last year's R15 Audi would be a great comeback ! this year's car nose looks really weird, if not plain ugly... and it would also look great by the side of their previous excellent R8R and R10R kits.

I agree with Tom, I had the studio 27 and LMM kits. I sold the Studio 27 version when I got the Gold line kit from LMM.
Ebay is probably the best place to look for it, LMM website shows the kit as out of production.
