2003 Pontiac Bonneville Tranny Problems
I have a 2003 Bonneville with 155,000 or so miles. The tranny is slipping at low gear only when the car is hot.
I checked the fluid and it “looks” clean also I replaced the fluid and filter around 120,000 Is this a sign of the tranny going bad or can I get some of that foam stuff I heard about. A tranny is about 2500 to fix, I rather avoid that if I can. Thanks to anyone who replies |

Re: 2003 Pontiac Bonneville Tranny Problems
You can try one of the additives, but once this starts usually it's too late, confirm it is the trans slipping, most times a code will set when this happens.

Re: 2003 Pontiac Bonneville Tranny Problems
A transmission diagnosis requires a trans capable scanner to find the code. A trans code will not appear as a Check Engine Light (CEL) on the dash. I agree with Max, probably too late for an additive miracle to happen.
