Washer Hose Leaking

Hi, I can fill up my windshield washer bottle and use the front washers with no problem. When I attempt to use the rear washer, no fluid is making it back to the rear washer nozzle. I can hear the washer motor cycling, and I can ALSO hear the fluid running down the FIREWALL!

There are no leaks in the engine compartment. Carpet is not getting wet. Inspection of the underside of my truck shows NO wetness!.......okaaaayyyy. When I take off from being parked, I leave a trail of washer fluid, and can't tell/pinpoint where it may be coming from.

I filled the bottle with water and gave it about 10 minutes, before I checked the level in the bottle. It was almost empty. So apparantly the hose leading to the rear washer is damaged behind the firewall.

Anyone have this issue, or tried to block the line to prevent the leak? Or if anyone knows the routing of the hose or how to get to it, before I try to tear into it, blindly, I'd appreciate the advice/ help.

Thanks!

Re: Washer Hose Leaking

Along the passenger rail/step is where your connection to the rear washer came loose. Remover the plastic rail/step and look towards the door jamb at the rail. Reconnect and you're fixed.

Re: Washer Hose Leaking

Thanks Franco, for the information. Sure enough the hose was not connected at the right kick panel. I'm lucky that the position of the hose was that it drained straight down and didn't damage or wet any of the many electrical connections in that area!

I also had to reconnect the rear washer hose at the rear headliner. Imagine the shock when I activated the rear washer and saw a waterfall through the rearview mirror! Glad I tested it with water. But all is well now, except for trying to adjust the rear nozzle so I get more fluid on the rear window and not on the ground.

Thanks again,
Silas
