Gr.N castrol RB skyline

hello.
this is my firts wip here. I tought it would be nice to share build of this car that isnt made very often
I picked up this project again as I started it with more ambitions but left it. want to built it engineless just to have some nice skyline in cupboard.(its group N so no chassis mods are needed) maybe engine will be displayed next to the car. I finally manage to cast redone bumper. there are newly done headlights and air intakes. those in kit were terribly fat. it is roughly sanded and dry fitted. I am pretty content with this one. I am not sure about exhaust and few things in interrior coz there are no pics of this car. I have just few of falken one

practice practice practice

The copies look really good. Can you share a picture or two of the molds? Good luck and welcome to AF.

Re: Gr.N castrol RB skyline

hello. small update.hardest part is behind us. bumper is fitted and panel lines are rescribed(few touch ups will follow offcourse) now I need to clean the rest of it and take it to the primer stage. I also checked the stance. its ok but those wheels are too big for 16 inch. I think I cant achieve stance like on real car but lowering can help maybe. I will add pics of real car later coz they are in other computer.

new towhook

from pattern to enslick

thanx for watching and have a nice eve

Re: Gr.N castrol RB skyline

hi I am not sleeping

still playing with bumper. theres always something to fill and sand. also match the shape of blinkers is time consuming. maybe nothing to watch but theres lot of work in it. front tow hook is also made. I took inspiration from hpi racing model kit. one thing is still tortures my head. was there only one version of this car in 1992 or can somewhere be seen earlier version like I assume tamiya representing? if somebody can help with this i would appriciate it, oh yes and I browsed some video and there is seen different type of exhaust tip. doesnt looked like N1 muffler but like weldina one. maybe some owner of hpi kit can help?

heres pics

drilled the holes for killswitch

interrior for now

hope u like and have a nice modelling

Re: Gr.N castrol RB skyline

thank you for replys guys. here it is... final primer before paint goes on. I will polish it tomorrow(my first attempt with polishing primerBTW) and spray it with automotive paint. lechler is the brand and it is choosen from nissan paint guide but I dont remember code(it was mixed year ago and I had to add a lot of thinner to make it usable) this shade is just what I wanted to achieve. the one in instructions is too bright comparing to pics of real car

sample

I think that flakes in this paint are ok. nothing out of scale...
pics dont do it justice.maybe wrong background

Re: Gr.N castrol RB skyline

hi there. mr. skyline is decaled. after paint has been applied I sprayed window trims and headlights with black. then it got shot of 2k. I made panel lines with dark green polish some imperfections under decals and finally decals went on. they are 18 years old but working with them was very easy.they stick to curvy surface very well even without using setting solutions. now the body will recieve coat of matt clear and then 2K again

enjoy
