1992 Town Car won't start
My baby hasn't been started in 6 months. For a couple of days I have been trying to get it started again, nothing happened when I turned the key. Put a new battery in it an at least it clicks now! The first time I turned the key after putting the new battery in, it actually made starting noises. Every time after that just a little *click*
Don't know what to do next! Help. In reply, please consider that I don't have any clue about how my Lincoln (or cars in general) work. So if you recommend some course of action, a guide/helpful website would be awesome!  Thanks.

Was the new battery an extra battery that you had laying around or did you actually go to the store and buy a new battery?
If it's just an extra battery that you had laying around, i'll bet anything that it's just another dead battery. Have you tried jumping the car and seeing what happens?

You might have also drained the new battery while trying to start the engine. Put your headlights on, if they don't look bright like normal, then replace or jump /charge battery. I would also look at the starter relay located on the drivers side wheel well under the hood. It is inside the long black housing that connects to another black box. Cant miss it when you open the hood. It also stores the EEC Diode fuel pump relay etc..... Switch one of the relay in place of the starter relay and see if that helps.

There are two starter solenoids on the 92. One on the starter and one on the fender. Also could be a bad starter. You are in luck on the 92 they are easy to remove with only two bolts. The 93 and up models are a bear ( I cleaned it up a bit) with three bolts, two of witch you can't get to very easily.

Thank you guys so much for these extensive replies. I will try the jumpstarting tomorrow.
What do you mean by "Switch one of the relay in place of the starter relay and see if that helps." I will try to find that relay that you talked about... and then stick another one in there? Is that what you mean? I am really not experienced and sadly don't know any prof. technician to invite. Are there any good websites/guides with pictures? Thanks!
