93 speedo needle wobbles.

Hello everyone.
I got a 93 Taurus police package with 54k original miles. I already put in a $1000 to fix all oil leaks (both intakes and valve covers), full tune-up, rear stabilizer bar bushings and front left shock with mounting bracket, alignment and tire rotation. Now the car drives very good, just one thing bothers me: the speedo needle (140mph certified and calibrated speedo) wobbles as I start driving, displaying 3-5mph at a time. How do I fix it? I want speedo needle to be steady. Tnanks.

Re: 93 speedo needle wobbles.

i had some problems with the speedo on a 93 wagon a few years ago, instead of getting a new one i took the cluster out, as i recall, and looked at the speedo mechanism. there's not much to it, really, so i put a tiny drop of oil on the one moving part and put it back together, problem fixed. sorry i don't remember the details but wanted you to know that it is doable.
