MBC on stock 02 wrx

so i had a question about using MBC on a stock 02 wrx. the car has catback and cold air intake. the thing is i searched and installing mbc on a stock ecu wrx with no engine management is too risky. is this correct? i read on the net that some people run mbc on stock wrx and are fine, they say anything below 17psi is fine, but some say the ecu will not adjust to the extra boost given to it which is not good at all. to be honest i never thought ecu would do such thing. i came from 3000gt platform and on these cars all you need to do is to add boost till about 14 psi before you run lean on stock fuel system. the ecu adds fuel and adjust timing for extra boost, but if wrx is not going to do this then i guess leaving it at stock boost is the only way.

Re: MBC on stock 02 wrx

The stock ECU can be reflashed and it can increase boost via the ECU. Will run 17psi boost on stock engine all day without issue
