I notice about a month ago a slight pull when it shifted into third now it has progressivly gotten worse and I have no idea where to even start. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: 95 3800 Jerks Left shifting into third?
A pull on one side is a systematic consequence of having half shafts of unequal length , except it is generally not very noticeable. It becomes more evident whenever some part of the steering/suspension/tires starts to wear out. Verify for alignment, tie rod ends, lower ball joint....

Re: 95 3800 Jerks Left shifting into third?
Thanks LMP. I've heard an intermittent clunk when braking in reverse or braking going around a corner would that be related to a lower ball joint? When I replaced the lower ball joint on my wife's 01 Stratus I had to replace the entire lower control arm but in my brief research of TS there is mention of drilling rivets and using a ball joint clamp. What are your thoughts?

Looking it over... The tie rod end on the driver side is definately shot..... and I mean there is at least 1/2" play in EVERY direction. Will follow up with solution (hopefully)

Re: 95 3800 Jerks Left shifting into third?
a few years ago, just as I was switching tires, I happened to pull the tie rod up and it SEPARATED right away at the tie rod end knuckle joint. The tie rod end was staying there assembled just by gravity.....I do not want to speculate on what could have resulted....
ANd yes, lower ball joint comes off by drilling or buffing the rivets out, then you hammer it out easily. The replacements come with nuts and bolts.
