Tuneup ideas ?

I have a 2002 sunfire i aquired recently and wondered if it is worth to spend the extra cash on a k/n air filter and more pricier spark plugs and wires .. I had changed the fuel filter ,, and boy it was a good thing i did . the fuel was almost black in the old filter .. I just wanted to get some ideas on what definate , things to change to notice , better fuel consumtion and or a real smooth idle ...Just want to keep this baby running good for years to come.

Change the wires and plugs if their old and you notice misfiring. Otherwise...if it runs fine, i'd just leave it. You're on the right track though, let me know how it goes with the K/N....
