Replaced engine idle air control, idles fun but accelerates on its own still....

RECAP

Manual transmission, was idling at 3300rpms then bouncing down to 2500 and kept doing it.

Check engine light says bad Idle air control, we tested it and it was bad so we replaced it..

Now the engine idles between 800 RPMS and 1300RPMS....

So here is the problem:

My car accelerates itself in gear between 800 and 1200rpms when I am not hitting the gas...

For example: I start it, I reverse out the drive way, its in first and I go... But then I let off the gas pedal and it slowly decreases to 1200 or 800rpms and KEEPS DRIVING... IT WONT STALL OUT like NORMAL MANUAL transmission cars are supposed to..

What could be wrong and what can I do to fix it. There is no check engine light indicating anything.

uh the car is not suppose to stall out when you let off the gas in gear. The motor will go to idle and it will stay there and push the car along.

It is supposed to stall out if you leave it in gear because it is a manual transmission this is not an automatic transmission.

Manual cars eventually stall out in every gear unless someone is giving it pushing the accelerater pedal

It has to relearn it's steps and many older eclipses take up to 35 miles(continuous) miles to relearn. My 94' is known to be one of them.
When the battery is disconnected you would have to do this same procedure.

Not really. I can let off the clutch in 1st while not giving it any gas it will roll. If I press the brake and bring the car to a stop then it will die. But if the car is in 1st and not stopping or doing anything to slow it down (ie hills) it will drive.

Dude i dont know how many manual cars you have driven but EVERY manual car will continue to roll in gear unless you push the brakes or go up a big hill. There is no reason for it to stall when your already moving and just let off the gas. I can idle in every gear just at different mph. In 5th my car will idle arond 20-25mph
