Yes, No, Maybe. Pretty vague comparison that highly favors the Skyline since you used the term "any year" and no mention of the model.

wow!

i to can also talk from experince.. i have owned a 648hp skyline and a 564hp rx-7 3rd gen.. in toky extreme racer 2
in my opinion the rx7 is better in all aspect compared to a skyline,
it hanldes waty better, if you set your gear ratios up proper the rx-7 will have better accelaration and more top speed then the skyline not to mention how sexy a black c-west kittet rx-7 looks driftin...

you may ask your self why am i postin about a video game but let us not forget thes "vedio games are based on real cars"!

so you my dis regard my post or think about my p.o.v

watever you do hate it or love it that is my $0.02 cents

since when are video games even close to real life?

there's so many people here that make their assumptions based on how a car handles in regards to a video game.

this breeds people with false knowledge.

why not find the 1/4 times for both cars, the handling G's they can pull...

times around the same track, like tsukuba, for example...

any time i've seen skylines and rx7s in a battle in best motoring vids...

the rx7 gets left behind... that's just the way it is...

and it's not always r34s. there's been a couple with r33s as well that would beat it...

it's interesting though, as the voice of the thread starter seems to say, at least from wording, that an rx7 could beat a skyline...

maybe that's just the way i read it...

Without bothering to dig up any stats....

If both cars were stock, A GTR Skyline of any year would beat an RX7, in a straight line, and on a circuit.

The 2.0L, and 2.5L single turbo Skylines (GTS-T, GTS25T, GT-T, also unmodified) would probably lose to an unmodified (260HP ?) RX7.

All normally aspirated Skyline variants (2.5L, 2.0L) would also lose to an RX7.

Infiniti G35 vs RX8 would be a cool comparo though...

I am with flylwsi on this one.

But, I have seen a modded RX7 that was very good at taking corners, the only problem is the engine breakdown in them, way before the RB26DETT would. That in its self, tells me which car I would buy.

I don't really know who would win really. I have driven a stock RX7 and I must say it is fast off the line but somehow or rather the torque seems to be flat after about 6000rpm. Handling was not as good as the GTR (the car felt as if it was gonna take off!) and there was lotsa wheel spin too! I think the GTR would win.
Sky, if you talked about which car I would buy, certainly I wud buy a GTR. The rotary engine is only good up to 100k km over here (where ambient temp is always circa 34C). And if you mode the RX7, it might even see shorter life than that!

Eh??? Not all RX7's are 260hp+.... what about the early ones..... the RX7 hasn't always been turbo'd......
