towing '92 front wheel drive camry

will it damage the drive train to tow my '92 camry with a chain behind a pick up even if it's in neutral and for a distance of roughly 10 miles?

Thank you, Jon

Re: towing '92 front wheel drive camry

For only 10 miles, it shouldn't damage your drivetrain much. But as for your ability to stop a vehicle towed by a chain if the truck in front suddently stops, that would be dependent upon the skills of the driver in the 92 Camry!

Not but leave the key in accessory position to unlock the steering column.

A Windstar without having the check engine light is not a real Windstar.

I wouldn't do it. You may damage your transmission. The only way your transmission gets oil to the bearings is by the engine powering the transmission and turning the transmission oil pump. You will turn the output shaft and bearings without oil supply. You may not damage it, but I wouldn't take the chance. Lift the front wheels.

Re: towing '92 front wheel drive camry

I agree with that. When front wheels turn, the output shaft turns with it. Even if it's in neutral and if the clutch is depressed.
